Varsity band members: we were VERY recently asked to assemble a marching band for the Aug. 25th City of Mission Sunflower parade. Report time of 8:15AM (will email location when I know) in show shirts and shorts, start time of 9:00AM and finished by 10:00AM. I realize this is very last minute, but all varsity members, please consider joining us on the 25th…for lots of lettering points! I’m asking the kids Wednesday (Aug. 15th) if they can commit to the performance. This is not a required performance since it wasn’t on the original calendar. Having said that, SM East’s marching band is attending…so we need a good showing for our school and community! 😊
Congratulations to the SM North Crimson Tribe Jazz Ensemble for being selected to play at the KMEA state music convention! The performance will be in late February, more details to follow. The last time a North band was selected for a state convention performance was 1993! Congrats Crimson Tribe!
The 3rd California trip installment is due today, Aug. 15th. Checks can be mailed to the address below, made out to “Shaw-Mi-No” (NOT made out to SM North). Online payments can be made at www.smnorthbands.org then click “Group Member Payments” then fill out the online form which will direct you to PayPal. I know it’s tough this lands the same month as “beginning of the school year” fees, but the trip is under 5 months away!
