Tuesday, January 23rd– pep band basketball game. Report time of 6:30PM. This is a single game, not a double header.
Tuesday, January 30th– North area band festival. Symphonic band and Crimson Tribe only. Report time of 6:30PM in the band room, in full uniform for attendance and warmup. Concert begins at 7:00PM in the field house, including band members, grades 5-8. Concert should last one hour, no admission charge.
Tuesday, February 6th– CHILI SUPPER. ALL band students will perform. Everyone is strongly encouraged to eat in the cafeteria from 5:45-6:30PM as the jazz bands play. At 6:30, we will all walk over to the auditorium to listen to the 6th grade honor band, freshman band, concert band and symphonic band. The concert should finish by 7:30PM. There is no admission price to attend, however, if you eat with us (and please do so) dinner is $5/person, or $3 for children ages 3-8 (kids younger than 3 are free). Dinner includes chili, cheese, condiments, hotdogs, and possibly dessert. We are preparing 240 servings of chili, so we are looking forward to seeing everyone around 5:45PM in the cafeteria for dinner!
-California letters of intent are due next Friday, January 26th. The first installment is not due until February 15th. Please see the email I sent in December if you need another copy.
-Students, we will need helpers for the chili supper (Feb. 6th) and the SMSD 8th grade band festival (Feb. 15th) to direct traffic in the parking lot, as well as foot traffic inside the building. Lettering points awarded to those students who help. Please see Mr. Reed if you are available one/both nights to help with traffic.
